“NO!… Try not!… DO or DO NOT, there is no try.”

“It is not how much you have learned, but how much you have absorbed in what you have learned.” – Bruce Lee
.
Most people try but some of them just don’t get there…… The reason…. Because they are only trying.
.
Using the verb “to try” in your sentences is self-sabotage, because before trying you are already programming yourself only “to try”, and not “get it done”.
.
When you HAVE to do something, you have little motivation. Often fear and procrastination block us from completing tasks we just aren’t really into.
.
Once you say “I’ll try”, you’re consciously creating doubt because you’re giving yourself permission to fail. Then when you actually do fail you’ll say; “see, I told you it can’t be done.” If you do anything with the attitude “I’ll try”, it is defeatist and as such will inhibit your performance and your learning.
.
When we learn something and have it committed to memory, having to change that neural pathway we have created for our technique, drill or principle is often difficult to change. To do things a different way is hard.
.
Our minds have created the “muscle memory” and we have decided we have always done it this way. Relearning is difficult, thoughtful and it takes effort.
.
Go into a situation with a more positive attitude such as; “I’ll do it”. This will give you a better outlook and could well be the difference between success and failure.
.
But you have to make the transition from feeling like you HAVE to do it, to feeling like you’re CHOOSING to do it. You have to tell yourself, you are choosing to do this. You WANT to do it.
.
If you are going to do something, anything, in the dojo or out, BELIEVE you can do it. If your heart isn’t in the action, more often than not, if you lack the conviction you can actually do it, you’ll fail….. You might as well not even try….. “NO!… Try not!… DO or DO NOT, there is no try.” – Yoda
.
The desire to learn is among the best characteristics a person can possess. But to learn deeply you have to have the enthusiasm to really want too, and be open and willing to change. ??
